Liz arrived with a portable hanging rail and a box of tricks and quickly and efficiently ascertained my needs..a mum of 3 with a past in corporate, but now working from home and looking after a pre-school boy. Liz immediately helped me shrug off my preconceptions of 'workwear' and 'at home wear', and came up with some fantastic ideas for using my existing wardrobe items.
The greatest thing was that she helped me to make the decisions about what to get rid of (we made a 'charity shop pile', and an 'ebay pile')- at no time did she impose her opinions of style, but gently guided me, and enabled me to let go of some items that quite frankly should have been binned years ago, but for a variety of reasons I had hung on to (just in case...). in addition, she recommended a seamstress, for a couple of items that were a poor fit, and worthwhile altering.
Over 4 hours she took over 40 photos, which she burnt onto a CD immediately for me, and then made a couple of suggestions on what I may want to add to my wardrobe (eg., nice leather jacket, and a few more accessories). Liz then followed her meeting with me with an email (within 24hrs) to summarise, with an offer of help to help me source her recommendations.
I would highly recommend Liz- she does exactly what she says- she helped me to make better use of my existing wardrobe, and gave some guidance on how to enhance this with a couple of targeted buys
Next time you want to plan a shopping trip - see Liz first as her advice is bound to save you time and money.

I met Liz in 2009 when she spoke at a ladies evening on the subject of wardrobe makeovers. My view of style consultants / fashion advisers / personal shoppers until that evening was limited but fairly stereo-typical – I expected it to be a luxury service offered by a condescending and judgemental consultant whose own personal style would make me feel inadequate in comparison. For me, style consultants targeted women with insecurities and cash to blow to relieve these. Liz changed my opinion!
Liz is down-to-earth and has a sincerity and honesty about her, enough it has to be said that I signed up for a wardrobe consult. In advance of our afternoon together, Liz asked me questions and confirmed our objectives. The 3 hour wardrobe consult was not about pointing me towards a list of new fashion fads and a big shopping bill. It was all about weeding out the dross from my cupboards and re-inventing the items that could be adapted. It was about identifying cuts, styles and designs that were applicable to me and creating a ‘core capsule’ (as it’s called) of essential items to keep at the centre of your wardrobe. I did not end up with a massive shopping list and the prospect of an empty wallet at the end of the session - I purchased just 3 new items following the consult and a few accessories and got the inspiration to re-invent outfits from existing clothing. The personalised style book logged all the ideas for future reference.
Liz has definitely changed not only my impression of style consultants, but more so the way I think about my wardrobe. There’s rarely a week that passes when I don’t consider advice she has given me before I work out what to wear. She’s taken me back to an era before children when there was time to plan and be creative, and, as a working mother herself, Liz combines the best balance of professionalism with realism and empathy. Her services are also offered at an affordable level. I can’t recommend Liz highly enough as a personal user of her services and to top things off, she has continually offered her support to local ladies and business events I’ve been involved in.
